Fix suggestions
What triggers a suggestion, the four categories, severity levels, and how to work the queue.
Fix suggestions turn a drop in visibility into a specific, scoped piece of work. They are generated automatically rather than requested.
What generates a suggestion
Suggestions are generated when a tracked citation rate drops by more than 15 percent. They are not produced on a fixed schedule and cannot be requested on demand, which is deliberate: a queue that fills up regardless of whether anything changed stops being read.
The four categories
| Category | What it means | Typical work |
|---|---|---|
| Content Gap | A question you have no page addressing, so engines cite whoever does. | Write the comparison, the guide, or the constrained category page. |
| Authority Signals | Your claims exist only on your own site with nothing corroborating them. | Reviews on G2 or Capterra, third-party mentions, case studies, earned links. |
| Brand Mentions | Engines discuss your category without naming you, or name you inconsistently. | Natural brand mentions in opening paragraphs, clearer positioning in titles and descriptions. |
| Structured Data | Facts about you are not machine-readable where they could be. | Schema markup such as SoftwareApplication, FAQPage and BreadcrumbList. |
Severity
Each suggestion carries Critical, High or Medium, based on how much visibility the underlying gap is costing. Work Critical items first: they usually correspond to a high-intent prompt where you are absent entirely.
Working the queue
- Mark resolved once you have shipped the change. This does not assert that it worked, only that you acted. The metric it was attached to is what tells you whether it worked.
- Dismiss when a suggestion does not apply, for example advice to build comparison content for a competitor you do not actually compete with.
- Dismissing is not a judgement on the tool. A generated suggestion has no knowledge of your commercial priorities.
Availability
Fix suggestions are available from the Growth plan upward, alongside competitor tracking and engine drift detection. Prompt suggestions, which are a different feature, start at Starter.
A realistic expectation
Suggestions describe the gap; they do not close it. The work is content and authority work on your own site and in the sources engines read. What Rivarise adds is that each item is tied to the metric it should move, so you find out whether the effort paid off instead of assuming it did.
